Jun 14, 2020· BlackStone griddle issue. June 14, 2020, 01:00 PM. So I love my BlackStone griddles. I have a 36" and a 17". My dilemma is my 17er has a really weak flame. I replaced the regulator and hose for a 30lb tank which worked for 4-5 cooks. Also used a different propane tank.

What you need is an adapter hose that hooks directly to the "throwaway" connector on the griddle where you normally screw on a disposable bottle. That lets the Blackstone use it's regulator to bring the pressure down.

Make sure its not an issue with the regulator you have needing a reset. Maybe this is something everybody knows but I only learned recently that regulators have a safety mechanism that can make your tank seem empty or the flame be very low if the regulator trips.
